Personal Radiation Detection Watch
This fine watch takes your radiation protection needs to a Personal Level.
For the price of a standard Geiger Counter, you can have a well-made
watch - with the Geiger Counter function built in!
The Radiation Detection Watch features both a digital and an analogue
watch. These two function independently of each other, so you can use
one for a stop-watch and the other for standard time-keeping chores.
But that is only a warm-up to its main function: A Personal Radiation
Detector. The radiation detector can be run in digital Direct
Reading Dosimeter (DRD) mode or in Survey Meter mode. In DRD mode,
cumulative dose is displayed in mSv. This allows you to know how much
radiation you have received over time, a very important measurement to
your survival in a nuclear fallout environment.
That is not all, the Radiation Detection Watch also lets you perform a
survey of current radiation, perfect for finding the source of
radioactive particles or to find if food or water is contaminated. (In
Survey Meter mode, the current dose rate is displayed in µSv/h.)
You can also set alarms on the watch. Alarms can be set to indicate when a
specified dose rate (while surveying with the watch) or if a
cumulative dose is exceeded.
In addition to the digital display, the Radiation Detection Watch has LCD
analogue displays, which provide a visual indication of the current
dose rate and cumulative dose. The full scale readings on the analogue
scales are the alarm settings.
In scientific tests, the detection performance of this watch was equal to or
exceeded many commonly available surplus meters sold on the market
today. But you get it all in a water-resistant, stainless-steel,
good-looking watch.
