Field Medical School
Attention: Because of the logistics involved, Medical Corps will not be holding any more classes until further notice! M.C.

Description:
Intensive and Hands-On Field and Family Preparedness Medicine

Field Medicine school is based on Navy Medicine and covers subjects which are not accessible to the general public. These Field Medicine techniques are used by Army Special Forces, SEALS, Marine Recon and Force Recon Corpsmen, whose very job description requires independence in the field.

BASIC CURRICULUM:

Field Dentistry: Instructor--Dr. Tom Loomis (DDS)
Fillings, Broken Teeth, Abscesses, Extractions, Re-cementing Crowns, Denture Repair and more!

Fracture Management: Instructor--Chuck Fenwick, Corpsman
Circulating: Edwards, Fenwick, Paul, Loomis
Diagnosing, Setting, Casting... Hands-on Casting Class includes: Placement, Application and Removal.

Field Surgery: Instructor--Chuck Fenwick
Circulating: Loomis, Paul, Fenwick and Edwards
Incisions, Suturing, Debridement, Drainage, Excisions, Opening Airways and Removal of Projectiles

Field Anesthesia: Instructor--Jeanne Paul, CRNA
Locals, (infusion and topical) and Nerve Blocks (a must for survival medicine!)

Biological: Instructor--Fenwick
This subject will cover Anthrax, Plague, Small Pox and several other of the Biological War Engines.

Nuclear Preparedness: Instructor-- Jade Edwards, Corpsman/NBC Specialist
Shelters (permanent and expedient), protective clothing, and more.

Chemical Preparedness: Instructor--Edwards
This will be both intensive lecture and a hands-on session for the proper use of masks, filters and other protective gear.

Pharmacy: Instructors--Fenwick, Loomis, Paul and Edwards
Antibiotics and their uses, pain control, alternative medications and preparations

 

Supplies: Supplies offered for "outfitting" include: Casting Kits, Casting Supplies, Surgical Instruments, Suture, Suture Staplers, Glass Syringes, Survival Grade KI, Biological Charts, and other hard to find items.

Tuition: $250.00 (Three full days)
Tuition covers everything except food and lodging.
All materials including plaster casting supplies, suturing supplies and handouts will be furnished by Medical Corps
